Since 1985 the Clark Fork Coalition has worked to protect and restore the vital waters of the Clark Fork River watershed, using sound science and community collaboration to ensure the waters of the Clark Fork basin flow clean, cold, and abundant. The Coalition’s work includes removing pollution and mine waste, restoring and re-watering native trout strongholds, preventing new contamination, and engaging riverside communities in caring for their backyard rivers and streams.
Contributions from the Memorial Float will be used to bring science-, service-, and standards-based watershed curricula to more than 1,000 K-12 students across the 14-million acre Clark Fork River basin. Your gift will provide youth in riverside communities with hands-on programs that introduce them to the power, beauty, and resiliency of their rivers, and give them the tools and training they need to be effective, lifelong stewards. You will also help introduce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) concepts to young learners through fun and engaging field activities designed to help implement real-world restoration projects on high-priority local streams. Most of all, you will help ensure western Montana’s iconic rivers are in good hands for generations to come.
